Guess some folks must be travelling through life on a plain and straight road with nothing ever coming in the way. For the rest of us it is one hill after another. You get over one hump and you think okay this is it, problem solved now I can cruise and the other hump appears like it was waiting for you to relax.
The hill types are definitely the majority. In different degrees but sharing that eerie feeling that worry is never over. If it isn’t fear of losing a job it is repaying loans and shortage of money, fears about health, concerns about loved ones, betrayals and let downs, the disappearance of those you thought were steadfastly in your corner, maintenance, some idiot fender bender, domestic crises, unexpected issues that were not supposed to crop up, damn it, this was over and done with except it isn’t.
There is always something else so off goes cruise control and you are into manual damage control again.
As you grow older you’ll find after years of worrying nothing has changed. The hills still fetch up but the difference is you don’t care that much. Whatchyougoingtodohuh??????
I mean, there is no career to be made, no great aspirations, repose has replaced passion and you find your company far more fascinating than others. The hills start tamping down turning into mounds and you think back and wonder, what if I hadn’t seen them as hills, worried less, reduced them in stature and just driven over them.
Sometimes, that is the best thing to do. Flatten the ground and zip past. The solutions very often come on their own just like the problems.
Reminds me of the hunter who is relating this story of his chasing a lion on the plain with not a scrub or a tree in sight and then they are face to face and the gun jams and the lion roars and charges. The hunter throws his gun and rushes up a tree.
Hey, says someone in the audience, you just said there were no trees.
The hunter pauses then says, there is always a tree.
Unless you wish to see it as a hill.

If my call is so important to them, why don’t they answer it for 22 minutes?
How come when I want to, but something specific online is the only item out of stock.
When I get into a queue or lane going fast, the moment I get in, it becomes the slowest and refuses to budge.
