No one changes the date of a program because you cannot make it.
A secretary feeds ‘don’t answer’ into the boss’s mobile phone for your number.
Your birthday comes and goes and the earth doesn’t move.
People give you recycled gifts.
Your name is Bikram Vohra and you get letters from Amsterdam addressed to Arka Obra or Bunkim Omra.
Even African widows with millions from dead dictators don’t send you stupid junk mail asking you to help out.
When you do a full makeover, hair, face, clothes and no one notices.
No one wants to play golf with you, like sorry we have a foursome and the same for Bridge.
Folks ask you to introduce yourselves because they cannot remember your name.
Your credit card gets rejected and ten people are watching.
You get the worst table in the restaurant and this was the one big night of the year out.
You inform relatives you are coming to their town and they say they are going to Monrovia.
You have a party and have to keep reminding people not to forget the date and even then only 30 percent fetch up on their way to other parties.
Your flight is the one that is late and when you finally get on, yours is the only seat with the in-flight entertainment not working.
You want to show pictures of your vacation on your mobile and no one hangs around, sorry, bussssyyy.
Nobody gossips about you when you are not around.
