Complainant accuses 92 News of making false allegations

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has received a complaint filed by an advocate Kashif Ahmer on behalf of his client, Dr. Masood Hameed, former vice chancellor of the Dow University of Health and Sciences against 92 News Television.

The complainant accused the channel of airing baseless and false allegations against a “law abiding citizen…who is recognized as a well-reputed personality, both nationally and internationally,” a PEMRA press release said.

The release neither mentioned the name of the program nor the date it was aired.

According to the complainant, the news was defamatory and intended to create public hatred against his client.

PEMRA forwarded the complaint to it Council of Complaints, Karachi.
