ISLAMABAD--After spending almost a year serving as special assistant to the prime minister, Fahd Husain has returned to journalism, joining PNN as president.
When he quit an illustrious career in journalism last May, it was thought that he would never return to the media. However, PNN announced on Wednesday that he had formally joined them.
Husain was a resident editor of Dawn in Islamabad when he left the paper to join the public office. Before arriving at Dawn, he was the executive editor of The Express Tribune and executive director of news at Express News Television.
He has spearheaded the launch of three channels in Pakistan—Express News, Express 24/7, and Capital TV. He also served as editor of The Nation and The News.
Husain began his career at The Muslim in 1991. In the 1990s, he worked at Pakistan Television (PTV) as an anchor for several shows. He has also worked at the leading American TV channel CBS News in New York.
