APP union to protest outside parliament if demands not met

ISLAMABAD—APP Employees Union of Pakistan (CBA) Islamabad has announced to continue protesting for the implementation of a 40 percent disparity allowance and other pending issues such as regulation of contractual employees and pay fixation of salaries for contract, daily wages, and interns.

In a demonstration held at APP Headquarters, Shahzad Ali Akbar, the union president, said that the negligence of APP management regarding implementing the 40 percent disparity allowance was a condemnable act of the management.

According to him, Finance Division had already released funds for disparity reduction allowance, but the management has continuously used delaying tactics to utilize these funds under another head.

He also emphasized that recent price hikes of petroleum products and resulting inflation have created immense problems for employees.

He demanded that the federal minister for information and broadcasting take notice of their demands; otherwise, they would launch their agitation in front of the Parliament House on June 28.

The union's Secretary-General Nadeem Iqbal said that the APP management must fulfill their demands urgently.
