ISLAMABAD: Journalist, analyst, and media development expert Adnan Rehmat has expressed disappointment over two leading channels for not taking action against two media personalities – Haroon ur Rasheed and Hassan Nisar.

Recently, an alleged audio recording of a conversation of Rasheed threatening a police officer, and a video clip of Nisar using abusive language against a woman thought to be the host of his show on Geo TV, went viral.

In a Facebook post, Rehmat maintained that by not taking action against the two, Geo and Dunya TV have condoned “misogyny and abuse”.

 “Shame on Geo TV and Dunya TV for continuing to showcase on their prime time flagship programs Hassan Nisar and Haroonul (sic) Rashid as their key 'journalists' and 'intellectuals' despite their shameful misogyny and abuse that is now viral.”

He added that the channels pretend as if nothing happened. “Shame on you for pretending that nothing has happened and for insulting our sensibilities by sticking with these pottymouths. TV channels are only as good or as bad as their journalists and analysts.”
