The News journalist among 13 chosen for Jefferson Fellowships

HONOLULU - Syed Asif Ali of The News is among 13 accomplished international journalists selected for the 2016 Jefferson Fellowships travel-study seminar.

The East-West Center announced the names of the fellows that come from 10 countries and territories and will travel together to China, Japan and Hawaii to gain on-the-ground perspectives, deepen knowledge of regional issues and build a professional network of contacts. Syed Asif, is an Assistant Editor at The News, Karachi. Other participants are from organizations like CNN International, National Public Radio, Times of India, Straits Times, Global Times and others.
