92 News to go on air on February 6

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s first HD channel, 92 News, will be launched on February 6 in a simple but impressive ceremony in Lahore.
Test transmission is already on in Lahore and Faisalabad while it will now be formally launched next month.
“Studios at all the bureau offices are ready while reporters and special correspondents have also prepared their exclusive packages for the first day,” a JournalismPakistan.com source said.
She said the channel was initially to be launched on December 25 but got delayed due to poor law and order in the country.
“The management actually failed to distribute HD decoders to cable operators due to poor law and order, especially in Karachi. Therefore the launching was delayed for a month,” she said.
Since 92 News is a High Definition channel the cable operators will have to install a special HD decoder to broadcast transmission.
