QUETTA: A Deutsche Welle correspondent in Quetta said Sunday he had survived an assassination attempt.
Abdul Ghani Kakar said in a statement three armed men chased him in a green colored jeep from Zargoon Road. Sensing danger, he said he pulled over at Makran Road in Satellite Town and tried calling the police. In the meanwhile, the assailants rammed their vehicle into his car and fled. Two passersby were reportedly injured.
Kakar said he had been receiving threatening phone calls for the past few days. Police have recorded his statement.
