KARACHI: Gunmen on two motorcycles fired at the offices of Express News Television in Karachi Friday injuring a security guard and a female employee.
The incident occurred around 11.30am with the gunmen firing more than 35 bullets. They then fled towards Baloch Colony, Express News reported.
CCTV footage showed the assailants making a quick u-turn near the office and fleeing. The motive behind the attack was not immediately known. The injured guard was identified as Mir Ali. The wounded woman was not named. Express News said the police reached the spot at 12pm.
Journalists’ organizations including the Pakistan Union of Journalists (PFUJ) condemned the act and termed the firing incident an attack on the freedom of press.
