ISLAMABAD – The Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists staged a protest Thursday against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law Capt. (Retd) Safdar for insulting a journalist of ARY News.
The speakers, including President of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) Afzal Butt, and National Press Club President Shakeel Anjum, condemned Safdar’s act and asked him to provide evidence of his allegations against journalist Shahid Matela.
Safdar, instead of answering a question by Shahid leveled serious accusations against him during the live telecast of his media briefing outside the Federal Judicial Academy.
The RIUJ has also written a letter to Safdar demanding he provide evidence of his allegations, if not, he apologize to the journalist.
