ISLAMABAD – Aamir Sajjad Syed (pictured) and Asif Ali Bhatti were elected unopposed as the president and general secretary of the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) on Sunday.
According to a notification by the election committee, all other office-bearers including those on the governing body also got elected without competition.
Myra Imran and Kalbe Ali became the vice presidents with Hanif Khan, the finance secretary, and Tariq Ali Virk and Ziaul Murtaza elected as joint secretaries.
The following were elected as the members of the governing body:
Farhan Ali, Izharul Haq Niazi, Ashar Hadyat Bhatti, Haseeb Shabbir Ch, Muhammad Saqib, Farhat Abbasi, Ali Akhtar, Najeeb Malik, Raja Adnan, Rana Adnan, Javed Akram Malik, Nabi Baig Younas, and Naveen Naqvi.
