ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has strongly condemned termination of three workers from Dawn newspaper in Islamabad.
PFUJ President Shahzada Zulfiqar and Secretary-General Nasir Zaidi said that dismissal of workers during the second wave of Covid-19 amid rising unemployment and inflation is absolute cruelty.
The management reportedly plans further retrenchments in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Islamabad, they said.
They have called for an immediate withdrawal of employees’ terminations and halting further dismissals.
