ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has condemned the closure of Daily Jehan Pakistan’s Multan office as it has rendered several journalists jobless.
PFUJ President Shahzada Zulfiqar and Secretary-General Nasir Zaidi said in a joint statement: “It is unfortunate that this is happening at a time like this when already the country is facing a difficult situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The statement said that media workers and journalists were working day and night despite facing such challenges. This closure of the Jehan Pakistan office will only add to the journalists’ problems.”
PFUJ urged the owner of the newspaper to rethink the decision and reopen the office.
As we move into the second week of the stay-home directive, many of us must be discovering a new inner self, and how much we take for granted and miss it sorely when it is gone.
