ISLAMABAD – Electronic media regulator PEMRA has issued an advisory to ARY Digital after one of its presenters casually uttered salutations/Darood while pronouncing the name of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
PEMRA named Nida Nasir as the erring presenter. She hosts the program ‘Good Morning Pakistan.’
“This casual attitude on the part of the host is quite unprofessional and had hurt sentiments of vast majority of Muslim viewers,” the regulator said.
It advised ARY Digital to be mindful of religious sensitivities and practiced norms.
It also directed the channel managers to install and utilize time-delay mechanism.
