ISLAMABAD – Dawn Editor Zaffar Abbas (pictured) has dismissed an allegation against him by Human Rights Minister Dr. Shireen Mazari as “ridiculous.”
Mazari speaking in the context of a recent BBC story titled ‘Uncovering Pakistan’s secret human rights abuses’ said on Twitter that the British broadcaster was biased, and also leveled an allegation against Abbas.
“Frankly on BBC, I have always maintained they have a strong anti-Pak bias. It was on BBC that present Dawn editor when working for them declared AJK as PoK! During Kargil BBC ran Indian Army ads just before news on the conflict! For us BBC could easily be Bharat Broadcasting Corp!”
Dr Mazari has every right to her views about BBC, and it’s for them to respond. But the allegation against me is not only incorrect and unethical, it’s simply ridiculous. The bbc archives are available and I challenge her to come up with any proof of her claim. https://t.co/jE3wDYgrVf

If my call is so important to them, why don’t they answer it for 22 minutes?
