ISLAMABAD - The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Tuesday demolished a protective fence outside the offices of Pakistan Observer in Sector G-8.
The move left the newspaper management fuming and exposed staff to security risks.
The news organization claimed the fence was put up in line with a letter issued by then DIG Police Sultan Azam Temuri in 2015.
The top cop warned the media houses of threats at that time. He told them to put in place security measures themselves. He said police did not have the required resources.
Pakistan Observer said the CDA Enforcement Directorate staff brought down a car shed, demolished the parking lot and removed the fence from their premises.
The paper said CDA did not issue any prior notice informing them about their operation.
