ISLAMABAD – Following weeks of a malicious social media campaign targeting Chief Justice Saqib Nisar.
Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan has directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to initiate probe.

A series of damaging images have been widely shared on the Internet. One such image shows President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra.
As soon as the image was uploaded, people were duped into mistaking Zafar Iqbal Jhagra for Saqib Nisar due to an uncanny resemblance between the two, Daily Pakistan Global said.
“The said image is also being captioned with incorrect, misleading and slanderous allegations with respect to the CJP-designate Mian Saqib’s professional capabilities,” the letter says.
“Sharing of the image under such pretences also constitutes an attack on the superior judiciary of Pakistan, which adds to the gravity of the criminal acts. This trend needs to be checked,” the letter continued.
