KARACHI - A Sessions Court in Karachi has granted an interim pre-arrest bail to a Frontier Constabulary (FC) guard who slapped a female reporter representing K-21 Television in Karachi.
Hasan Abbas got bail against a surety bond of Rs50,000 after he submitted an application through his lawyer before an Additional District and Sessions Judge (Central). The judge also issued notice to the prosecution for arguments on the next hearing.
The police had registered a “counter-case” against the reporter on the complaint of a National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) official for creating “hindrances in official work”.
Reporter Saima Kanwal had lodged a complaint against the FC guard for slapping her in the face as she reported from the NADRA office. Gulbahar Police registered an FIR against Abbas on Thursday.
