QUETTA - Haal Hawal, Balochistan’s first Urdu language online newspaper was launched Tuesday at the Quetta Press Club.
The newspaper is dedicated to journalist Irshad Mastoi, who was killed by unidentified gunmen along with two others in an attack on the Quetta offices of Online news agency in August 2014. Abid Mir is the editor of the promising new paper that will cover a range of provincial issues.
Irfan Saeed, Bureau Chief of Dunya News Television was the chief guest. He was quoted by BalochistanVoices.com as saying: “It’s good to see that journalism has transformed from paper to computer in Balochistan."
Shahzada Zulfiqar, President of Quetta Press Club, senior journalists Saleem Shahid, and Ayub Tareen, and Ejaz Baloch, Director Public Relations University of Turbat spoke briefly at the launch.
Shabbir Rakhshani, the chief reporter at Haal Hawal explained the editorial policy of the paper.
