ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of Interior has offered media houses paramilitary troops to prevent possible terrorist attacks.
Reports said Thursday Frontier Constabulary personnel equipped with machine guns would be told to man the rooftops of news organizations.
The decision to depute paramilitary troops for security of media outlets was taken after police and FC were called back from VIP protocol duties.
The media houses would be bound to build barracks for security staff at their main entrance and rooftops. They will be provided security personnel with modern arms on permanent basis.
In a special meeting Central Police Office, the Inspector General of the Islamabad Police directed all police officials to ensure elaborate security of media houses, educational institutions, shopping centers, markets and important buildings. - Agencies
