ISLAMABAD: The management of Capital TV has not paid salaries to its staff for the last four months, pushing the journalists to near starvation.
A source tells JournalismPakistan.com the employees have also protested against the management for inordinate delay in disbursement of salaries but to no avail.
“If you can’t work (without salaries), you may quit the job,” he quoted a senior manager as saying.
He said the journalists attached with the channel have also approached Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and National Press Club many times for help to get their salaries but no positive results are forthcoming.
“The PFUJ claims to be the largest organisation of journalists but it has badly failed in protecting their rights,” he said.
