ISLAMABAD: The Nation has taken down a story from its website following reaction and pressure from an Arab diplomat in Islamabad.
Inamullah Khattak’s story, “Guarding a Romeo Diplomat,” was published in the paper on Monday wherein he disclosed a top Arab diplomat’s secret visits to a house in F-6 residential area.
“The diplomat leaves his villa in Diplomatic Enclave for F-6 residential sector in the federal capital where, according to police, he continues to stay there for late hours in night in a house owned by a lady working for a UN agency,” the story said.
A source tells JournalismPakistan.com that the paper’s management was approached by the diplomat and requested to take down the story from the website.
“The relevant embassy officials also approached the paper’s management with a request to remove the article as this was a personal affair of the diplomat and shouldn’t have become news,” he said.
The story can, however, still be accessed and read in the e-paper.
