RAWALPINDI: A local court Friday sent Bilal Yamin, former bureau chief Din News Television and a member of ruling PMLN, to Adiala Jail (picture) on a 14-day judicial remand.
He was arrested by Rawalpindi Police on March 24 from the office of DSP (Saddar) Sajid Gonal, who invited him to discuss a case registered against some of his supporters.
Yamin was presented in court of civil judge Rehan Ilyas where he said SP (Saddar) Ghias Gul along with other police officials was hatching a murder conspiracy against him.
He accused Gul of threatening his family and relatives on the behest of two prominent political leaders and promised to submit their names in court.
A large number of PML-N workers also gathered outside the court and chanted vociferous slogans against Punjab Police and demanded fair judicial investigation into cases registered against Yamin.
