KARACHI: The Express Media Group's offices in Karachi came under attack for the second time in four months that injured a security guard Monday evening.
Eyewitnesses said at least four armed assailants were involved in the attack who hurled two home-made bombs and then resorted to firing at the office building. They fled when the security guards returned fire.
The attack came at 7:00pm, the peak hour when the newsroom is usually full. The building houses Express News TV, The Express Tribune, Daily Express and Sindh Express newspapers.
The Express Tribune said the attack damaged about a dozen cars belonging to staff members.
In August, gunmen on two motorcycles fired at the offices of Express News injuring a security guard and a female employee.
Journalists' unions have announced countrywide protests on Tuesday against the latest attack.
