ISLAMABAD: Journalist Sardar Shafiq, seriously injured in an attack on October 10 as he left his office in Abbottabad, said Monday land mafia was behind the attack.
“I was targeted because of stories I had been filing against the mafia,” he told FM 99. “Those involved in the attack were trained professionals.”
However, he said he would continue to expose the wrong-doers come what may.
Shafiq who works for an Urdu daily, was reportedly intercepted by three men who began assaulting him with iron rods without any warning. He was left critically injured and is under treatment.
