MINGORA: The Nation staffer Haroon Siraj was critically injured in a road accident in Swat valley the other day. He sustained injuries to his head, legs, and hands.
The locals rushed him to the Saidu Sharif Hospital’s emergency ward where staff was reportedly absent. Reports say that for more than 50 minutes nobody attended to him in the hospital.
However, he then contacted the chief executive Saidu Sharif Group of Hospitals Dr Taj Muhammad Khan, who arrived along with six doctors. But there was neither any proper equipment nor medicines as the journalist continued to bleed.
Later, the doctors announced the journalist was out of danger and that he had been advised bed rest.
Dr Taj blamed the PTI government for lack of facilities at the hospital.
