QUETTA – Kharan Press Club in Balochistan has been shut down for an indefinite period and all its activities postponed following threats from an armed Baloch group.
The decision was taken at a club meeting chaired by President Safar Khan Raskoi.
The armed group has threatened the club’s office-bearers and members. The meeting expressed concern over the threats.
The house agreed to decide on a future course of action in consultation with the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), Balochistan Union of Journalists, and the Quetta Press Club.
