KARACHI—Karachi Police have arrested the killer of Geo News reporter Wali Khan Babar, the police chief confirmed.
According to Samaa.tv, Ghulam Nabi Memon, the chief of Karachi Police, told reporters that the man identified as Kamran alias Shani, shot Wali Khan Babar. "He shot Wali Babar… he is the main shooter that's why he was given death penalty by the ATC."
An anti-terrorism court in Karachi had awarded four men life imprisonment in the murder case, and two others, including Kamran, were given death sentences in absentia in 2014.
The reporter was shot dead in Karachi's Liaquatabad neighborhood on January 13, 2011, when he was heading home from work.
