Journalists reporting on science and technology are a rare breed in Pakistan. There is no way of gauging whether they are good or bad as the end users, the readers that really matter, are reluctant on providing any kind of feedback. The fact remains, however, that science and technology is covered by the print and electronic media and this is an encouraging sign.
Quite frequently one comes across an interesting written piece but one that has either been plagiarized or lifted. A genuine and well-informed input, however, can be found online by bloggers and ‘nerds’ who are citizen journalists at best. What they need is a bigger forum. This is one area that needs improvement and JP can provide the platform for that development.
