ISLAMABAD—Foreign Press Association, Africa, has released a statement regarding the shooting and murder of renowned Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif in Kenya, expressing solidarity with the deceased's family.
According to the declaration, "The Foreign Press Association, Africa is deeply disturbed by the killing, in Kenya, of renowned Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif. Particularly worrying are the circumstances in which the journalist met his tragic death."
In a statement issued on Monday, the Foreign Press Association, Africa urged the Kenyan government to investigate the incident conclusively to ensure the safety of journalists in Africa or visiting the country for their professional undertakings.
Further, the leadership of the Foreign Press Association, Africa, showed deep distress over the incident stating that "Sharif's death has robbed the media fraternity globally of a dedicated and forthright journalist, who lived up to his calling."
