ISLAMABAD – Senior journalist Khaleeq Kiani appears upset with the management of Dawn for slashing salaries, and also with the news editor who dropped his byline.
He took to Twitter to express his anger. “Mor#Dawn management slashed salary and news editor clipped byline, I will not cutback donkywork.”

However, Abbas Nasir, a former Dawn editor, tried to cheer him up. “Things can only get better. Look at this bright side. :)”
In January, the Dawn Media Group, which also publishes Herald magazine, announced slapping a 40 percent cut in staff salaries because of falling advertising revenues and an increase in operational costs.
