Can I give you some friendly advice?
No, if you have to make it unfriendly.
Really, it is for your own good.
Oh, I thought it was for your good.
Don’t mock it, I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t really care for you.
That is a relief, there I am thinking you loathe me.
You need someone to tell it like it is.
And you are that person?
Why do you have this defensive fence around you?
I don’t have anything of the sort, it just annoys me that curiosity is all wrapped up in plastic and used to invade my space.
See, you are so touchy, no wonder you have so few friends.
I have enough, thank you very much, I don’t need any more, friends are dangerous business.
See, you are such a cynic, you have changed, you used to be nice now you are not.
Good, I like the new me.
It is no wonder people are talking…
And you are listening…
Look, I am concerned…
So, did you defend me, did you stand there and say shut up when I was being badmouthed.
You are upset.
I am not upset, I am not bothered, say what you want, I do not care, read my lips.
Migoodness, you really are bothered.
How do I say no, I am not bothered unless I say I am not bothered and come to think of it I am bothered that you think I am bothered because I said I am not bothered and that is the only way I can say I am not bothered if I am not bothered.
If I had known you’d take it so badly, I’d never have told you.
Rubbish, you wanted to tell me, you came here to tell me, you wanted to see what I’d hit on the ‘feel bad’ scale.
Why do you shun those who like you, always pushing them away?
Oh please, off with the amateur psychology, leave me alone.
If I were you, I’d get over it.
Get over it, I haven’t even got under it, you are the one who is shoving me in that direction, what part of “I am truly not bothered’ don’t you get?
In part. In full. Been there. Heard that. Resonates. Loud and clear.
