ISLAMABAD - The federal government has decided to appoint Arshad Khan as managing director of Pakistan Television.
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary made the announcement following a federal cabinet meeting here on Thursday.
Khan previously served PTV as its managing director in 2004 and has also been the CEO of cell company Ufone.
Meanwhile, television channels reported that the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Maj. Gen Asif Ghafoor has been named on the PTV’s board of governors.
The new PTI government announced giving the state-run PTV and Radio Pakistan complete editorial freedom.
For decades, these outlets were used by successive governments for their own promotion.
