ISLAMABAD—AAP News (Urdu) Television on Saturday announced the closure of its transmission, citing "some legal and technical" reasons.
An email sent to staff said that the employees would be paid all their dues. The office would disburse salaries for March on April 14 and 15, while for the notice period (April to May 11), will be paid on April 21 and 22.
The management further said that AAP News Chairman Malik Riaz (of Bahria Town fame), considering the employees' problems, had decided to pay half the staff salaries for the next three months by the fifth of each month.
The email said that the chairman would start a new channel in which the employees who worked for AAP would get priority.
