KARACHI: Veteran journalist Shamsher ul Hydri died at the Agha Khan Hospital on Friday following a prolonged illness. He was 81.
During his career he edited Daily Hilal-e-Pakistan and Daily Mehran, and monthly magazines Nai Zindgi and Mehran.
Late Shamsher was one of pioneer television anchors of PTV Karachi and also served as the secretary of the Sindhi Literary Board besides being associated with the Academy of Letters Pakistan.
Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah condoled Shamsher’s death and termed it a great loss to journalism and Sindhi literature.
Shamsher was to be buried at the Chowkandi Graveyard later Friday.
