QUETTA: A reporter and a cameraman of Samaa TV and a photojournalist working for NNI news agency were among those killed in the two bomb blasts that rocked the provincial capital Thursday.
According to newspaper reports, media men had gathered at the scene of a suicide bomb attack in a snooker club when a second explosion took place outside - a bomb planted in a car.
Reporter Saif ur Rehman, cameraman Imran Shaikh, and photojournalist Muhammad Iqbal lost their lives while some other media persons were injured.
Reports said a DSNG of Geo TV was damaged and a cameraman injured. The explosions killed 93 people, injuring 121 others.
The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) reported that at least two journalists were said to have suffered serious injuries - Jameel Ahmed, a Samaa TV satellite engineer, and Mohammad Hasan, a photographer for Independent News Pakistan.
