LAHORE: Unidentified gunmen on motorcycles opened fire on a journalists’ hunger strike camp outside the Punjab Assembly Friday. No one was hurt in the attack.
According to a JournalismPakistan.com source, the incident happened around 11:00pm when men on motorcycles sprayed bullets at the seven striking journalists.
Police arrived at the scene and collected empty shells and cartridges. Although no one claimed responsibility for the attack, it is obvious the journalists pressing for allotment of plots in a housing society in Harbanspura have angered quite a few people.
The hunger strike was into its fifth day Friday.
