ISLAMABAD - Electronic media's regulatory body PEMRA Wednesday slapped a fine of Rs100,000 on Neo Television for airing social media celebrity Qandeel Baloch's objectionable remarks.
The remarks against the Pakistani nation were broadcast in the program 'Ajeeb Sa' on April 10, a PEMRA release said. Neo Television have been given until May 26 to pay off the fine and also air an apology failing which the channel's license could be suspended.
The channel never responded to PEMRA's show cause notice issued on April 11.
