ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has served a show cause notice on Channel 24 for airing an analysis which the watchdog said was against national interests.
PEMRA said Wednesday the channel telecast the analysis on September 21 that gave the impression as if Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir were not part of Pakistan. Airing such content was not only against national interests but also seriously violated PEMRA laws, the authority said.
Channel 24 have been given until September 28 to submit an explanation why their transmission not be shut down.
