ISLAMABAD – Electronic media watchdog PEMRA Saturday issued a show cause notice to BOL News for airing hate comments and analysis against some individuals in the program Qaum Kay Saath Aisay Nahi Chalay Ga.
PEMRA said the language used in the show was a violation of rules and regulations and the code of conduct.
The regulator has given the channel until March 10 to explain why action should not be taken against them. It also sought names of the program’s producer and director and also that of the individual speaking in the background.
The program in question was telecast on March 1.
PEMRA pointed out that despite a ban on the program Aisay Nahi Chalay Ga, for spreading hate and inciting violence, BOL had changed the program’s name and continued its hate speech.
Cases and complaints against Aisay Nahi Chalay Ga hosted by Aamir Liaquat are being heard by PEMRA’s Council of Complaints.
