ISLAMABAD: The Council of Complaints of PEMRA Thursday adjourned hearing of a complaint filed by ARY Network's Group Executive Editor Dr. Shahid Masood (pictured) against Minister for Information and Broadcasting till April 8.
The Council met at the PEMRA headquarters in Islamabad where Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed appeared along with his legal team. Summons had been issued to the minister and 25 television channels.
Dr. Masood had approached PEMRA against Pervez Rasheed's remarks which were aired by TV channels on the occasion of condolence reference in memory of Dr Ahsan Akhtar Naz.
However, Dr. Masood did not appear before the Council and Barrister Qasim Nawaz who appeared on his behalf sought an adjournment, informing the house the complainant had left for the US earlier in the morning on an official assignment.
The Council expressed displeasure over this and made it clear that ex-parte recommendations would be made if Dr. Masood did not show up at the next meeting on April 8.
