ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has served a show-cause notice on DawnNews for defying a ban imposed on its program, Zara Hut Kay.
The three-day ban coming into effect on March 22 was violated as the channel continued to air the program on all three days.
This was seen as “willful defiance” by the regulator which has now given the channel three days to explain why it defied its orders.
The ban on the program was imposed after its anchors discussed a reference pending before the Supreme Judicial Council against Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of Islamabad High Court.
The trio of Mubashir Zaidi, Wusatullah Khan, and Zara Khoro discussed the reference in their program aired on March 9.
