ISLAMABAD: A candidate running for the post of president in the National Press Club elections next week claimed Wednesday his panel’s banners had been removed from the club premises.
Matiullah Jan representing the Jago Liberal Panel said he suspected the rival Journalists’ Panel to have done this. “Two of our big banners were removed,” he told JournalismPakistan.com.
He said he had met his opposite number Farooq Faisal Khan to inform him about the incident. Farooq, running for a second term in the December 17elections, is reported to have condemned the act.
The election committee, headed by Nasir Zaidi has convened a meeting Thursday to resolve the issue.
