ISLAMABAD: Kamran Rehmat has taken charge as Editor-in-Chief of Pique, the newly-launched monthly, which is making its presence felt as a competitor of Herald and Newsline.
Coming out of Islamabad, the monthly boasts a writing panel of virtual who's who in the Pakistani media. The all-colour glossy however, is not confined to just serious commentary but also satire. Pique interviews have already turned heads.
Kamran, last working as Editor of Dateline Islamabad, brings to the monthly considerable experience as a journalist who has worked in all streams — print, electronic and online.
One of the youngest editors in the Pakistani mainstream media, Kamran has previously worked as Editor, The News; Resident/City Editor, The Express Tribune; and News Editor, DawnNews when it was launched as Pakistan's first English news and current affairs TV channel.
Kamran is also a prolific columnist, writing for a string of national and foreign publications. As well as being Al Jazeera Online's Pakistan analyst between 2007-09, he also has an advertising stint to his credit besides working for TV and radio.
