ISLAMABAD: The Express Group’s new television channel Hero is set to start its test transmission from June 1. Preparations to launch this Urdu infotainment channel had been on for the past several months.
The staff hired by the group underwent training for two weeks in Karachi where the channel is headquartered.
The Express Group also runs Urdu news channel Express News and the Daily Express newspaper, which is also in Urdu. The group’s English-language Express 24/7 channel was shut down reportedly because of poor revenues and low viewership at the start of the year.
Once launched, Hero will be available for viewing across the country. Taqi Shaheen is the channel’s Chief Executive Officer.
