ISLAMABAD: Rizwan Ali of the Associated Press(AP) in Islamabad was the first journalist to register with JournalismPakistan.com when the website was launched two and a half years ago.
“I see JournalismPakistan.com as a great initiative and an innovation,” he says. “Where else would you find news related to journalism and journalists in Pakistan,” he asks.
Ali says he likes being a member of this website which after a humble beginning has now become quite popular. “What I am impressed with is the quality of content posted on the site; there is no crap that we often get to see on those online mailing groups and best of all JournalismPakistan.com is run by professional journalists.”
His favorite section on the site is ‘Oops’ that highlights headline blunders and other mistakes in national newspapers.
A senior sports writer, Ali began his career with The News in Rawalpindi where he worked for 17 years before joining the Associated Press.
He has covered countless sports events, both at home and abroad. His last major international assignments were the cricket World Cup and the Pakistan-England Test series in the United Arab Emirates.
