KARACHI: Abdul Aziz Memon, the commissioner appointed by Sindh High Court has issued letters to counsels of all parties involved in a damages/defamation case filed by senior journalist Sardar Khan (picture) to appear before him on March 7, 2013 at court’s Bar Library.
The court last month had accepted Sardar’s plea seeking appointment of a commissioner for expediting the suit filed in 2010.
The commissioner, a former district judge has asked the counsels to appear with all relevant evidence, affidavits etc.
Sardar, a former employee of Voice of America is seeking damages of Rs1380.3 million.
The case was filed against Asif Bajwa (Secretary Pakistan Hockey Federation), Voice of America (VOA-BBG) Ms. Jennifer Janin (Head of Urdu Service VOA), Razi Rizvi and Kokab Farshori, (Managing Editors in Washington), Ayaz Gul (VOA Bureau Chief), Pakistan Herald Publications (DawnGroup) along with its employees Rishad Mahmood and Shazia Hasan.
If my call is so important to them, why don’t they answer it for 22 minutes?
