ISLAMABAD: Three news anchors have reportedly joined Apana TV’s forthcoming Urdu news channel. Farah Yousuf of Dawn News, Mureed Abbas from Samaa TV and Monis Raza of CNBC Pakistan have been hired, reports say.
There were reports of Gharidi Farooqi, a program host with Samaa TV, also having signed up with the channel that is likely to hit the airwaves soon. However, Gharida says although she has a good offer, she has not joined them.
Fahad Hussain Shah is the channel’s owner who already runs the Punjabi-language Apna News, Apna Entertainment and Kook TV. He also recently bought India’s 8XM.
The new channel’s name is being kept a secret.
