ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has shortlisted 18 candidates for the position of Managing Director Associated Press of Pakistan with interviews planned for later this week.
The Nation reported Tuesday that a permanent head of the state-run news agency has not been appointed since the PMLN came into power in 2013. The ministry had almost completed the process of appointing a permanent MD of APP last year and had also shortlisted three candidates but the whole process was stalled because of some influential candidates.
Five out of 18 shortlisted candidates come from Punjab, eight from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and one each from Balochistan, Sindh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, FATA and Islamabad.
